If

It’s human nature to fantasize about the possibilities. This has brought us many great inventions from the incandescent lightbulb to the autonomous driving vehicles. Beyond that it’s also in our nature to be critical.

We all have said it; if I were in charge the outcome would be different. Or, if it was me… In all of those situations we’re daydreaming ponder what could be or maybe just fooling ourselves.

If in many situations is used as a scapegoat for our inaction.

Too many dreams die with if

If is a glimmer of hope and a killer of dreams. It is where the seeds of big ideas are planted, but too often not cultivated. The reasons are many. Some legitimate others resulting from fear of negative things that could happen. We know there are many more failures for every success story told. In many instances, those who become successful missed the mark. So what’s so special about them?

Those who take the first step may stumble and fall just like a child learning to walk. After a few missteps, they gain confidence, find their balance and we all know the outcome.

For the most successful among us, failure is not a deterrent. It’s a lesson in what didn’t work under specific conditions or circumstance. It provides opportunities to make adjustments and assess the outcome. This may occur once or countless times until the individual cuts their losses or there is a glimmer of hope like an ember when vigorously trying to lite a fire.

We tossed around the idea to start this blog for a while, but hesitated because we didn’t know if others would find it meaningful. After several months of procrastination and excuses, we decided to step out on faith. How else would we know what people thought unless we did it?

Many times in life we hesitate to pursue our dreams out of fear it will not turn out well. If your dreams are legal, moral, and ethical by all means you should go after them. If you hit a roadblock or some other obstacle along the way, backup, pivot, and moveout in another direction. There are many avenues to achieving your dreams, keep trying until you find what works for you.

If you do nothing, you will never know your true potential!
